Singapore's 48th birthday

Singapore celebrates its 48th anniversary this summer. This is when it became an independent country. It has recognised its strategic importance and because the same political party has retained power it's policies have been very beneficial to its residents. It changes very quickly with old buildings being replaced by huge skyscrapers. Even in the short time we have been visiting the sky line has changed.

Not any old church but the latest state of the art concert hall seating 5,000 members - booking via Internet for the more popular services as total membership now about 30,000!
