Barking - Gospel Oak Rail User Group

ENGINEERING WORKS
  • 16-17 May  LUL Victoria Line closed between Walthamstow Central & Seven Sisters. Replacement buses operate from Selborne Road bus stop 'W' and Forest Road bus stops at Blackhorse Road. Barking - Gospel Oak Line offers alternative route as Walthamstow Queen's Road station is short walk from Walthamstow Central by dedicated footpath and South Tottenham station is approx 300m along the High Road from Seven Sisters station.
  • 17 May North London Line blocked between Willesden Junction & Richmond.
  • 23-25 May District Line blocked between Aldgate East & Dagenham East also between Turnham Green & Richmond; Hammersmith & City Line closed between Barking & Moorgate; North London Line blocked between Willesden Junction & Richmond & on 24 May after 22:00 blocked between Gospel Oak & Stratford.
  • Threatened strike action by Network Rail staff 25-26 May As well as possible disruption to train services including London Overground, some planned engineering blockages could be cancelled.
  • 27-28 June Next closures on Barking - Gospel Oak Line. More details later
OTHER NEWS
  • BGORUG held its 2015 AGM on 29 April. There remain vacancies for Vice-chair and a Committee member. Members will be receiving a final renewal reminder soon. New members always welcome, £5.00 per annum. We hope to hold another meeting near Blackhorse Road in early July.

  • BGORUG has written to the Office of Rail Regulation for clarification regarding their ability to ensure Barking - Gospel Oak electrification takes place by the quoted 'indicative' completion date of mid 2017
  • Caroline Pidgeon, Vice-Chair of London Assembly Transport Committee has asked the Mayor for details of failure rates of the Class 172 trains used by LOROL on the Barking - Gospel Oak service.
  • The Summer National Rail timetable starts on Sunday 17 May. New timetable booklets for existing London Overground services have been available for some weeks. They contain the London Overground network map that will apply from Sunday 31 May when London Overground takes over services between Liverpool Street and Cheshunt (via Seven Sisters)/Chingford & Enfield Town as well as the Romford - Upminster branch. Abellio Greater Anglia have produced  temporary timetable booklets until 31 May when London Overground will issue its own booklet. For a look at this just click on the 'timetable' button on our Introduction page. Crossrail trading as 'TfL Rail' also takes over the Liverpool Street - Shenfield stopping services on 31 May. No changes to services are expected until the December timetable change.
