Leytonstone Fire Station

Next Tuesday 27th November at 7.30pm the Planning Committee will take the decision to replace Leytonstone Fire Station. As usual with our planners it will be a loss of another fine Victorian building, but more importantly an opportunity to have kept a little enclave of attractive buildings in Leytonstone High Road to give this long street some character. The Police Station is being kept as a Free School and the pub is still operating, so surely the Fire Station building should be kept to enhance this area. A more appropriate site should have been found to build a new Fire Station, assuming Boris wants to keep it!
