Election Hustings

Waltham Forest Echo

At the recent election hustings held at the Girls School the Tory candidate did not turn up and there was only time for 5 questions. All the candidates presented themselves well, but it says a lot about our current situation when the 100 plus people in the audience were out numbered by the audience in the large hall for the steel band concert. Even more significant was the audience was mainly white males getting on in years!

Candidates Comments

This email is being sent on behalf of 38 Degrees member Hiten, from Walthamstow:

Dear Adrian,

Recently 38 Degrees members have been getting together in Walthamstow to talk about the election and how we could make a difference. We decided the best way was to get organised - to start getting together in our communities.

So we’re holding a hustings - a Question Time style event with all of the people standing to be our MP in Walthamstow. It’s a chance to meet other 38 Degrees members, as well as put your questions and concerns to the the people who might become our next MP. It’s happening on 29th April - will you join us?

Here are the details:
When: Wednesday 29th April, 7:00pm
Where: Sir George Monoux College, 229-233 Chingford Road, London, E17 5AA

This is our chance to show politicians who they really answer too. Don’t worry if you don’t want to speak, there’ll be lots of people asking questions and we’ll be representing Walthamstow together.

It would be good to have an idea of numbers. So if you’re interested, please let us know by clicking the link. And feel free to invite your friends and family:
