Indonesia destroying the world

Our daughter lives in Singapore and for the last few months have been plaqued by smog caused by forest fires in Indonesia. This happens each year when the loggers go in and set fire to the wood but this year, because of dry conditions, the fires have got out of hand and set the peat on fire and they can't stop the burning and pollution.

Some days the smog in Singapore is too bad to allow our grandson out to play in their garden. In Indonesia the smoke is so bad many people are being killed by it. This is obviously not just a South East Asia problem but one that affects the world climate and raises questions about the economy of the Indonesians and other poor nations.

This article by George Monbiot outlines in graphic detail what the issues are.
