Green MEP Jean Lambert tours Groundwork's local reuse projects
On Friday 19th February, Green MEP Jean Lambert was in London visiting Groundwork’s local reuse projects. The first destination was Western Riverside Waste Authority in Wandsworth, where Jean was introduced to RE:WORK, Groundwork’s household appliance and furniture reuse workshops. Next, Jean travelled to Camberwell, where she was introduced to a community reuse initiative known as The Loop, set up in a shipping container on Samuel Lewis Trust Estate. The project aims to reduce fly-tipping, promote local reuse and improve the local environment while also offering training, employment and volunteering opportunities to local residents. Jean Lambert said of the projects she visited, “I'm delighted...I'd like to see fruitful partnerships like this grow and reach more areas of London”.
