Arcade Site to get 9 Cinemas

Next Tuesday 8th January at 7.30pm the Planning Committee will decide on the planning application for the Arcade Site in Walthamstow. The officers are recommending approval and 51 responses were received. It appears to meet all the latest planning regulations so my forecast is the committee will vote unanimously in favour. If not it will be 4:3 in favour!

This means, once the building is completed, we will have a few more shops and flats and a 9 screen cinema run by Empire cinemas (an Irish Company) - the same group that runs the Empire Leicester Square (one of the most comfortable cinemas) which has one of its screens with only 20 seats - very much a home cinema set up!

Even though the Walthamstow Area Action Plan has not been fully approved yet, it is being used as the basis for approving the development.
